Gay Cruising Site Guyhop Eyes Blockchain Tech

LOS ANGELES — Social Smarts’ gay cruising site Guyhop has announced it is exploring options to employ Blockchain technology in an attempt to improve the customer experience.

“Blockchain technology is a perfect fit for our business and our mission,” Social Smarts’ CEO Rob West explains. “It opens numerous possibilities in terms of performance, algorithmic matching, trust building systems and, most importantly, privacy. We are very excited to begin work on this.”

West says the use of Blockchain technology has exploded and dating/hookup services are just beginning to use the technology, due to the high degree of security it offers.

“The Ashley Madison hack, for example, would never have happened if Blockchain technology would have been used,” West says. “The ability to encrypt data, which is distributed in a decentralized way, makes the technology a perfect fit for protecting data transfers necessary in apps like Guyhop without leaving open doors for hackers.”

Guyhop’s free location-based hookup service, a designed-for-mobile web product described as “a true adult playground for horny gay men, bisexual couples and groups,” offers easy-to-use navigation, uncensored content, chat/messaging options, photo privacy guard and filters for favorite personal interests, tastes and positions.

West says using Blockchain will allow Guyhop to explore new features such as encrypted ID verification without worry of information being stolen or hacked, while adding new ways to connect members using tokenized incentive programs.

“We choose to embrace innovation and we believe Blockchain is the future,” said West. “It could change everything.”
